View Full Version : How Much of the Fennel Do You Use -- Help!

If the recipe calls for sliced bulb, the bulb part is pretty evident but do you discard the stalky part that looks like celery?

Isn't it kind of early in the morning for you to be cooking fennel? Must be something really yummy!

In answer to your question, yes, just use the bulb and toss the rest. At least, that's what I've always done.

Thanks -- I'm an insomniac who wakes up early so I cook and prep on Sunday morning.

The Oven Baked Stew has been in for an hour and I am prepping for Chicken with Fennel & Zuchini which I will make tonight -- that way I just have to toss the ingredients in the pan.

I'll also do a soup and a curried veggie dish which should last the week for lunch and dinner as they nuke up well.

By the time I get home from work, all I can do is heat :D
