Great bag Debie! :D I've been looking for something similar in green, but haven't yet found the right one for me. Of course, the hunt is the best part. ;)

Very Cute Debie.

I think DH would faint if I brought that home and he knew how much I paid. Maybe once he starts working.....

OMG Candace - how cool is that cake? I love the bag, too!

Molli, I showed the bag to Mr. Moneybags last night and said "can I have it?". Maybe he'll get it for me for Valentines day. Right.

That was a cool bag, but I LOVED the Kate Spade bag on the upper right... :D

Yeah...if I ever spend that much on a bag it will be for a basic coach bag in black or brown. I need to build my basics before I add colors. ;)

So how much is everyone willing to shell out for a handbag? I can't imagine a bag that would call to me enough to spend more than $75 or $80. How about you?

I'm sorry I looked. I've had a love affair with purses since I could walk. I always had a purse on my arm. The first thing I asked my aunts when we visited was "do you have any purses?" Don't know what that means, still feel the same way. Only the prices have changed. (big time)

Well, I told DH I wanted a Burberry bag for Christmas, and he actually got me one. He managed to find it cheaper online(and it isn't even a knockoff!) but it was still pretty pricey. My last Coach bag I had for 6 years, so if I keep this one as long, it'll all work out(sort of)

I like Coach. I have one coach purse and it was the cheapest one they sell.

It is addictive though.

They are so expensive and when you go in the store and theres a bunch of teenagers buying the complete outfit. But the classic ones will last a long time. I do want a burberry purse though.

I don't really like Luis Vutton for some reason and Prada.

Although I was in Kohl's today and they have some real cute canvas totes like the coach ones but are a lot cheaper.

Loved it too!

Actually I feel the same way about spending a lot of money on handbags -- $70 to $80 would be my limit. That's why I enjoy shopping on eBay. I just bought a nice Prague tweed tote for $80 Cdn including shipping. Had I bought it on overstock, it would have cost twice as much including shipping.

I would spend more money on a classic Coach bag that would last me years, than I would for a smaller trendy bag in a cute color or pattern. I have found really cute bags at places like TJ Maxx. I know people that buy cheap bags--you know, the leatherette, and they have to buy a new one every year. They also look like they went through a garbage disposal before the year is out. Quality is worth the money. IMHO.

I'm with Miss Giggles on the Louis Vitton. There are so many knock offs, it seems that everyone has one. I has turned into a "label fashion statement" instead of a quality item.

I like this one even better! Is is also a Michael Kors? Is the price similar?

I have a knock-off white Louis Vitton same pattern different style than one in the photo with the wedding cake. DH would really roll his eyes at that cake!

I think I have 4-5 purses now. I've been searching for one type that I can't seem to find anywhere, although I know it exists. If anyone happens to come across something like this in their shopping, let me know:
Long enough strap to wear over my shoulder
long enough strap to take one strap off with the purse still on my shoulder, to rummage through it
Camelish color
Durable, leather
satchel type shape, large enough to hold stuff beyond just a wallet
Zipper or other tight closure for top

I saw a woman with one at my son's doctor's office that was EXACTLY what I wanted -- kicking myself later for not asking her where she got it, but we were both wrangling kids at the time.

As far as money ... I don't mind spending a few extra bucks for something that will last, and that I'll get a lot of use out of. I like Ebay too. :D Dangerous place...

Have you heard about the purse "club"? You join at one of three levels and can "check-out" any designer purse included in your level for an unlimited length of time...as soon as you return it you get the next one on your wish list...kind of like netflix for designer bags. I think the highest level, that includes Coach, Prada, etc, is like $30 per month to join. Neat concept if you like to change a lot!
