View Full Version : Two Mashed Potato Questions

If I am making mashed potatoes on Monday night, can I peel the potatoes and put them in ice water until tomorrow? Will they soak up too much water?
Are Yukon golds a good mashing potato? Obviously someone is potato impaired. The recipe calls for russet but I didn't see any at the grocery store:( .

No need to be ice water...just cover with water, place in fridge...I used to cover with a plate over the bowl, or plastic wrap...love yukon golds...poor Bryan loves mashed but hardly ever gets them:D

Don't know about the pre-peeling thing, but I do know that Yukon golds make awesome mashed potatoes!
