Got this out of Homemaker's mag the other day - great little recipe with so many variables.

Sinless Snack Bars

1/4 cup butter (could use marg)
250 g. pkg. marshmallows, about 40
1 tsp. vanilla
5 cups crisp rice cereal
1 cup dried cranberries or raisins
1/2 cup raw green pumpkin seeds

Spray a 13 x 9 baking dish lightly with pam, set aside. Melt butter in a saucepan set over medium-low heat. Stir in marshmallows, a handful at a time, until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Add crisp rice cereal, cranberries and green pumpkin seeds, sitrring until evenly combined. Prss into prepared dish. Cook completely and cut into rectangles. Makes 30 bars.

Per serving: 83 cal

2.5 g. fat
14.5 g. carb.
1 g. fibre.

This has so many variables, cereals, nuts, dried fruits, margarine, etc.

Lanie, I used to love receiving that Homemaker's Magazine in Canada. I actually have issues from the early 80's stashed in the basement. Thanks for the memories http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

By the way, did you ever make your cross border shopping trip to Buffalo/NF? I was in Ontario over Easter and brought back a few goodies with me http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

This is basically the Kellogg's Rice Krispie Treat recipe, but I like the additions. I used to put wheat germ in it for my kids, and a little pb. You can melt the marshmallows and marg. in the microwave.

Did this recipe tell you how much protein was in each bar?
