If you visited the old board, you may remember me. Every month, my husband gives me a country (or region)to research. Then I make recipes from that country. Anyway, June is England. After getting really great suggestions, this week we 'went' to England. The menu was a British roast, Yorkshire pudding, and glazed carrots. I have to say, I was very pleased-I had never made a roast before(we are not big meat eaters)! I thought the Yorkshire pudding was ok. My husband loved it. If you would like either of the recipes, let me know-I am happy to post them. Thanks again for all the suggestions! Next week I am going to go the cucumber sandwich route!

I love the idea of cooking food from another country every month. Thanks for sharing. I think I might try that in my own home to make things a little more intersting. Just out of curiousity, how did this little "game" come up between you and your husband?

You know, I don't really remember how we started doing this. Although I cook dinner nearly every night, we don't often get to sit together and eat because my husband is in medicine and works crazy hours. This is a good way of enjoying the time that we do get to spend together. So far our countries have been Indonesia, France, New Zealand, Southern U.S. (we do regions, too), Canada, England, Japan...I may be leaving one or two out. It has been a whole bunch of fun-even though my husband laughs at me, I think he enjoys it just as much as I do!
