Does anyone have a recipe for a poppy seed dressing for a fruit salad? The fruit was over greens. The recipe I had was not from Cooking Light. I believe it was from onr of those Brtty Crocker cook books. Thanks for the help.

Oil-Free Orange-Poppy Dressing
1/4 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel
1/3 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon powdered fruit pectin
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon poppy seed
1. In a small mixing bowl stir together orange peel, orange juice, pectin, honey, & poppy seed. Cover & chill for 2 hours before serving. Cover & store remaining dressing for up 3 days. Makes about 1/2 cup.

Poppy Seed-Fruit Salad
3 tablespoons apple juice
2/3 teaspoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons fat-free sweet-and-sour dressing
1 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1/8 teaspoon poppy seeds
1 1/3 cups strawberries -- halved
1 cup honeydew melon balls
1/2 cup seedless red grapes
1/2 cup seedlesss green grapes
1 1/3 medium peaches -- peeled and chunked
2/3 cup bananas -- sliced
1. Combine apple juice and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, and simmer until thick (about 1 minute), stirring constantly. Pour mixture into a small bowl. Add dressing, oil, and poppy seeds, stirring until well-blended. Cool completely.
2. Combine strawberries, melon, grapes, and peach in a large bowl. Add poppy seed mixture; toss gently to coat. Cover and chil. Just before serving, add banana; toss gently.
Yield: 5 servings of one cup each
Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 100 Calories; 2g Fat (14.6% calories from fat); 1g Protein; 22g Carbohydrate; 3g Dietary Fiber; 0mg Cholesterol; 6mg Sodium. Exchanges: 0 Grain(Starch); 0 Lean Meat; 1 1/2 Fruit; 1/2 Fat.

here is a wonderful poppyseed dressing and the fruit salad to go along with it
fruit salad recipe with poppyseed dressing:
4 oranges
4 grapefruit
3 avacado
(peel slice and section all of the above)
DRESSING
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
pinch of salt
1/3 cup apple cider vinager
3 green onions very finely chopped
1 cup salad oil (vegetable oil)
1 1/2 tbsp poppyseeds
Mix with electric mixer. gradually add oil mix until very thick and smooth. stir in poppyseeds!

Here's a poppy seed dressing I fixed this weekend. I served it over mixed greens, mandarin oranges, pecans, onion, and feta cheese. It's very good.
Poppy Seed Dressing
1/2 c. regular or reduced fat Mayonnaise
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. milk
2T whit vinegar
1T poppy seeds
Beat all ingredients with wire whisk.

mmm... i made the Poppy Seed Fruit Salad for easter brunch. it was a huge hit!!!
