I'm looking to purchase some software for my computer. I want something that has recipes, I can put in my own recipes and I also want it to give me the nutrition information, i.e., calories, protein, etc., on my recipes. I know that CL has something like that, but are there any others out there that people have tried?

I have the software by Broderbund. They have updates periodically with CL recipes... you can sometimes find these packages at Price Club (or Sam's Club) a little cheaper than at computer stores.
I happen to really like this software program... to add your own recipes is a breeze and downloading from the website is also very easy. I use the email feature a lot to send recipes to my friends and family to try (I live across the country from them).
I did try another one quite a few years ago and it just was not as easy to use. Good luck!

Mastercook is great. There is now a version 6. (I had my first Mastercook when it first came out from a small company ARION, in Texas.) It was then sold to Sierra.
It comes in several versions, of course I have the Cooking Light version, and gives you several cookbooks from past years as well. You can add your own cookbooks and they are very easy to maintain. Once a month I do a backup on them on a zip disk.

Several of the ladies in my cooking group all have the MasterCook 6.0 We love it! It's so easy to import/export recipes. When I make a dish and I want to share the recipe, I just print it out. It comes out looking really nice on the page. For example, nice heading, font, etc. The best thing about it is when I want to try recipes that have been input, you have an option to put the ingredients into a shopping list format, then delete what you already have at home. It takes no time and then I'm off to the market with an organized list! You can buy MC at Best Buy, Target, or any of the super stores. By the way, there are several versions out there, including a Cooking Light one.

OOOPs! The software company that makes the CL software I use is Sierra / Mastercook, too! I think something else was included with the package I purchased that said Broderbund... or maybe that was something my dh bought? Who knows... anyway, the software is great just like the other ladies said! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
