View Full Version : Anyone tried Click-N-Ship? Fewer trips to the Post Office!

I HATE going to the Post Office, so I decided to give the Click-N-Ship a try and it's so easy! I use my kitchen scale to weigh my package (doesn't work for anything over 9 pounds, but....), enter the required info, slap on a label and I'm done.
Technically you can leave the package at your mailbox and they'll take it, but I'm not comfortable doing that, so I just take it with me to work since they stop in every day to deliver and pick up anyway. You can also drop it off at the post office which wouldn't save a trip, but it would save standing in line.
I also plan to use it when we send records from school - I usually have to run the records to the Post Office on my own time after school and it's a pain.
Works for me! Anyone else use it?

DH got me started using it, and I LOVE it. We even take it a step further and request a pick up (Priority and Express only, unfortunately) at our front door for packages that won't fit on our mailbox. :)

I picked up a flyer about this the last time I was at the PO and forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!

Alysha,
Thanks for posting about this. I saw the flyer and thought we should try it but had forgotten about it. Since we take packages with us on the bus (along with a toddler) so DH can mail them at a PO close to work, I think this would be something we should really try. We send a package to BIL about every 3 weeks (he's in Baghdad). So they'll pick it up from your front door? We have community mailboxes and not much would fit inside it, but I'd feel comfortable leaving it on our front porch.

We use it all the time...DH is constantly ebaying random things that I want him to get rid of, but he won't throw or donate. Ebay is the great comprimise position, and Click-n-Ship makes it so easy! I do feel bad for our mail carrier, since he's the one who has to lug all this crud around!
I think we generally request a pick up.
Any of you have the automated machine for shipping packages? That has really helped at our post office.

I've never seen those! Our Post Office is pretty small. I doubt they could fit one of those.

We have the automated machine and that's ok unless you want to pay cash. It doesn't take cash. Also I got 2 shipping labels for the same package once and another time it charged my card and didn't spit out a label.
I do a fair amount of ebaying and have thought about this but I am wondering how you know if your kitchen scale is accurate enough. If there's a discrepancy of a few ounces, what happens? I have a nice electronic scale but I don't know how it would compare to the PO's scale.
