If you want to start a new fitness challenge you might want to look into the The Self Challenge (http://www.self.com/challenge/). It's a very effective fitness challenge. I've done it for the past 3 years. I am normally very active, but I still do the challenge every year just to kick any bad habits before they get out of control. It has worked for me every year and each year I feel refreshed and ready to continue with the routines I learned from the challenge. Unlike a 6 week challenge where you bust you butt for 6 weeks and eat unrealistically, the self challenge teaches you how to exercise effectively and eat healthy. It's a 3 month challenge but it's not suppossed to end after 3 months. Use the things you learned from the challenge and make it a lifesyle.
The site has a workout and nutrition log so that you can track you progress. For extra motivation go to the forums and search for fitness buddies to help you stay on track. I hope you all have as much luck with the self challenge as I've had!

Thanks for posting that. :)

I signed up and will try using it in conjunction with the challenge we're doing on this board (although we're doing it for 6 weeks, that's just an arbitrary number - it's really about trying to get back on track).

I think what I really need is a workout change, but I haven't found one I liked yet. This one looks very doable, but I think I'll have to add a bit more than what they ask for in the first week - maybe make the cardio sessions longer or something. I'll also have to modify a bit - I think our fitness ball bit the dust.

I did the strength training yesterday and really liked it. I am sore today, so I can tell that it's the kind of change-up I need to start challenging my muscles again. It's a short workout that can be done at home - even better!

Now I just have to get up the energy to get my cardio workout in tonight.....
