Hi All,
I'm looking for a recipe for Greek Pasta Salad. I remember some of the ingredients: orzo, greek olives, feta chees. I know it was in an old issue - I made it at least a hald dozen times last summer & now I can't find it anywhere.
Does anyone else recall this recipe?
Thanks!

I didn't see a recipe in Master Cook, which has '91-'98 recipes, and I just started a subscription this year. There was a Greek Pasta Salad recipe published in Jan/Feb issue, but it doesn't have orzo in it. If you're interested, I'll type it in for you.

In June '98, there was a recipe for Tomatoes Stuffed with Orzo Feta salad, could this be it? Although, it didn't have olives in it.
There was also a Lemony Orzo Salad in the March issue which has definite Greek leanings: lemon, mint, feta, kalamata olives, and olive oil. But, it's also got zucchini and tomato in it...

Hmmmmm..... Thanks for checking for me. Now this is really going to drive me crazy. I'm going to keep looking until I find it - I'll post it when I do - it's a very good recipe.

Thanks for the offer to type it in Carol, but I have the issue so I can save you some typing.

Carol...your MasterCook has '91 through '98?? How cool! Was that the Deluxe version or what? I bought 5.0 Cooking Light edition and only have '96-'98.
Just wondering where the other 5 years came from!!

Deanna,
If you had Cooking Light versions 3 or 4, it came with selected recipes from 91 to 95, which could be converted to version 5 format. That might be where Carol got the recipes.
here is a greek pasta salad (though not from cooking light)
Greek Orzo Salad
one cup uncooked orzo(about four cups cooked)
2 cups peeled,seeded,quartered & sliced cukes
1 1/2 cups quartered cherry tomatoes
one cup crumbled feta cheese
one-half cup coarsely chopped red onions
one-half cup chopped fresh parsely
24 imported black olives, pitted and coarsely
chopped
two teaspoons salt
one-half teasoon pepper
one-third cup olive oil
one-third cup lemon juice
one teaspoon minced garlic
one-half teaspoon salt
one-quarter teaspoon pepper
1. cook pasta according to package directions. drain and rinse with cold water. in large bowl, combine pasta, cukes, tomatoes, feta, onion, parsely, olives, salt and pepper.
2. in small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper. toss with pasta mixture. serve immediately or refrigerate until needed.
this is great!

Deanna/Elinor...
I have The Best of MasterCook version 5.0.5., which came with CL '92-'98 recipes. I heard such good things about the software on this BB that I purchased it this past January.
These posts are making me want to try these recipes!!!

Elinor: Thanks for the info on the earlier versions of MasterCook...Might be worth picking up one of the older versions at a big discount, just to add in the 92-95 recipes that aren't included in the 5.0 version.
Carol..."The Best Of" also included a bunch from Betty Crocker and others, didn't it? I think it was something like 10,000 recipes? WOW!!
