The package states on them that they are not for sale in the USA. We get them in Canada - maybe a Canadian site could get them out to you really fast. I know that anybody who sells candy in Canada, sells those as well. Hopefully someone can help.

Hi JMarie http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I'veprovided the address for the American Distributor of the Kinder Surprise Eggs. Perhaps if you contact them they can suggest the name of a retailer in your area that will carry them.

FERRERO U.S.A. INC.
600 Cottontail Lane
SOMERSET, NEW JERSEY 08873
Tel.001/732/7649300
Fax.001/732/7642700

Also, you may want to check out the following website as well:

Good luck! My kids still love them and they are in their late teens. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I've never seen Kinder eggs here (we bring them home from Germany a lot), but there is a new American product that is basically the same thing. They are Nestle Wonder Balls. The only thing is they are round, not egg shaped. But they are round chocolate shells with Disney shaped candy inside.

I know that if the kids always get Kinder eggs, and that it's a tradition, it really won't be the same (plus the chocolate isn't nearly as good!), but it's an idea, anyway! Happy Easter!

It's actually, Kin (pronounced like "kin" as in your relatives) - so Kin-der like Kindergarten. Kinder means children in German. (I know you knew that LG, but just in case anyone else has never seen these eggs before!)

And they're called Kinder eggs because they are for kids!

Even though I speak fluent German, I too thought "kinder" as in more kind when I first saw the title of the post!

Happy Easter everyone, and hope you get your eggs - they're good and a lot of fun.

YEA! I went to eBay and searched all of the sellers and found one who was in the USA! He and his wife live in the state of Washington. Anyway...I arranged payment through Paypal, Sunday night and they emailed me and told me they shipped them out Monday and I should have by Friday or Saturday at the latest! I ordered 2 cases of 24 each and sold the remainder for what I had in them to my friends. My children are both in their late teens....17 and 19...they are just going to be so pleased...and I am so thankful to this couple in Washington!
And thank you for all of your help. There is a vendor in Canada who sells them for $17.00 for 24 plus 6.50 shipping (ground) and 7.50 for air. BTW, I had to pay 20.00 for 24 with 5.00 shipping, but it averaged out to 1.04 per egg....Still a bargain, in my opinion. I just wish we could buy them in the USA....the toys are very collectible and they really are neat...It may be too late to get them for Easter, nbut any of who who have the opportunity, should try them. I had two girls who ride my schoolbus leave for amsterdam today and I told them...go buy yourself some Kinder Eggs! Anyway, Thank you ALL for your posts! And I hope you all have a WONDERFUL EASTER!

I went to this website and the guy is from the State of Washington but not the same guy I purchased from...and you can get them cheaper from him than I paid for them! So give him a try! Let me know if you did and what you thought...Get several friends together and order a case or two and split the cost until you decide if you like them or not...like I said...the chocolate is so tasty! The toys...or most of them are so cool!
Happy Easter!

CrazyCook, I called the number in Jersey and they told me they don't sell them in the USA. I was really bummed and tried to pull a guilt trip, how come it always works when my mom does it? Anyway, I told them how desperate I was and couldn't they make an exception...the answer was still NO! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif
I am going to try the person from Washington today! Thanks for the info!!

as a canadian and seeing these eggs all year round in the grocer's check out line I am finding it unbelievable, astonishing and hilarious that there is a black market out there for Kinder Eggs. The USA isn't allowing the sale of these because of the "choking hazard" to small children.
I agree with the rest of you that the chocolate is yummy and i (almost 30) like the unique toy.

i love kinder eggs - we get them every time we travel out of the country. i'm kinda glad they don't sell them here though, because it makes it more of a special treat when you travel overseas. it's kinda like how i drink orangina like crazy in france, but i won't buy it here at home... i guess i'm just weird like that!

I am not sure if I agree with you.... On the one hand, the toys are so neat...and I think it would be more fun than collecting Beanie Babies! On the other hand, it sure is exciting when you find them! So mb, I guess it's a toss-up! I just hope that everyone who had their curiosity piqued, was able to find some! Remember eBay in your search! and GOOD LUCK!
Joyce!

I, along with a couple of friends, paid 50.00 for 48 Kinder Eggs! They were oput in the mail from the state of Washington last Monday....supposedly....never received them. If I don't, I will be sure to post who rthis guy is so that you all will not make the same mistake. I sure hope they arrive in the next day or two. Maybe all the tax letters slowed them down...makes me angry.

jmarie, you do have to be careful with ebay, as we have recently had a lot of problems with people who never deliver the goods that you buy! just keep e-mailing the guy that you haven't received the eggs; ask for a tracking number; if you don't get anywhere, file an investigation with ebay, or consider trying to stop your check/dispute the charge on your credit card, etc. good luck and let us know what happens!

mb

p.s. in terms of ebay, there are a lot of scammers out there, but really, ebay can be a great forum to buy stuff. it's just like everything else - one bad apple seems to ruin the whole bunch! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

I received the eggs today! They were nicely packed and in great condition. I called the post office to complain because of delayed delivery. I was told that if I had mailed the package that he would tell me that the next package I mailed would be on the Post Office, since it arrived late....I told him I paid the postage that he (Seller) just mailed it....he said that it was still his (Sellers) ball in his court and only he can reap the benefit of a free mailing. That just doesn't seem fair. And get this....one of the friends who wanted to go in and had me order extra, now says...."Well Easter is over, I don't need them anymore...and she wanted 14! Sheesh! Oh well, my daddy told me many many years ago..."Life isn't fair..." Wonder how he figured that out!
The eggs are cool though!

I had never heard of kinder eggs until this post. They sound similar to some candy I had in Australia called Yowies.

http://www.aussiecatalog.com/shopfiles/YowiesMilkChocolate.jpg

Each hollow milk chocolate shape represents a mythical Aboriginal creature called a Yowie. Inside each Yowie, of which there are 6 different ones, you will find a plastic egg containing either a plastic playmate Yowie or a perfect replica of one of 80 Australian and New Zealand animals that you assemble yourself. Inside each egg is a description of the Yowie or animal included. Their availability inside the chocolate Yowies depends on their numbers in the wild. Collect all or a few, you will enjoy the chocolate and the animals you assemble. Designed to teach children about their environment and the animals that live there.
