I am having a dinner party and trying to find something to serve along with the main dish of paella. Does anyone have any suggestions for a side dish?

Nothing unusual in this suggestion, but I think a big green leafy Caesar Salad w/ spicy croutons would be yummy!

My suggestion for a side dish - Sangria or Red Wine! I usually just serve a green salad and a nice crusty loaf of bread. Paella has the meat, starch and veggies all in one.

Allie - which Paella recipe are you making? I've made the Traditional Spanish paella from CL May 2000 issue and it is so good (reveived raves with dinner guests to the point people were requesting the recipe).

I have made the Spicy Paella with Chili, Lime and Cilantro , and served it with the same Caesar Salad that Lynn suggested. Very, very tasty.

My MIL is from Spain and when she makes paella she usually serves some type of gazpacho salad. I say salad because she basically takes the ingredients for gazpacho (cucumber, tomato, etc.) adds a little vinegar & oil and serves it cold or at room temperature. She also serves bread, but she serves bread with everything anyway. I LOVE paella!
