I'm interested in Dickies pants for women. What's the fit like? They look like they're cut for men. Is that how they fit? I have to hunt for them around here, so I don't want to waste my time if they don't fit a woman's shape very well. But I like the look.
Thanks for any info.
The only Dickies I'm familiar with are the ones that are for working in. I see a lot of contractors wearing Dickies pants, but I've never seen women in them. Perhaps you could look for their web site for additional info?
Good luck!

Teri,
My DD and her friends like the Dickies brand of clothing. I have only seen their clothes in the Junior departments (but then I'm not a big shopper). From what I have seen, they are cut for a more male figure. My DD has a small waist and female hips and she has a hard time finding Dickie shorts and pants that will fit her. She has a few pairs but always has to wear a belt to cinch in the waistline. They just aren't made for her figure. Her friends with more athletic, slim hipped figures look great in them. IMHO, having a traditional female figure can be a problem with this line of clothing.

The Dickies line of clothing has become very popular with middle schoolers and some high schoolers. They are now cut in "junior" sizes and I've seen them at my DD's (13) favorite store: Pacific Sunwear. Not sure how they fit but I would imagine that they aren't the same cut as the ones in the men's department of K-Mart.

I actually wore them in high school, a very long time ago. I went to a Catholic school and we (girls) could get away wearing them instead of the uniform pants. Haven't been in them since.

I have worn Dickie's for work, and honestly, don't find them
comfortable. They are definitely cut for males. If you have
no butt or hips to speak of, then you would be okay. DH likes their overalls (he is a mechanic), and I have worn some of his. They are better than the pants.
Personally, I am a loyal Carhartt wearer, but only b/c I need them for work. They are expensive but well worth the $$. They can be found at National Workwear, and I bought my lined overalls at sierratradingpost.com.
Don't know if that is helpful or not.

DS (14) wears Dickies. I like them because they're cheap, don't wrinkle (no matter how long they've been in the dryer) and last for ever! LOL - he went from wearing only Sean John, Echo and Rocowear to Dickies and John Deere. :D

I saw a Dickie's outlet store on a recent trip to San Marcos. I didn't know anyone wore them except farmers or mechanics.

Thanks for the feedback on the clothes. I think they probably won't fit my body that well, but I may hunt down a pair and at least try them on. I know the middle schoolers and older wear them a lot. But I've also seen them on some of the other moms at the preschool. I think they're rather cute.
Thanks again.
