Has anyone seen this magazine yet? I was out shopping today, in search of CL's new Gusto magazine (no luck), and came across BBC Good Food, "Britain's best selling food magazine."

It's a British publication that includes recipes from BBC cooking shows as well as many others (including low-fat, vegetarian, wine tips, ethnic recipes, etc.). It's very well organized (color coded pages
for each department) with lots of great pictures. Recipes are in both metric and imperial units of measurement (except for oven temps- had to do my own converting). Though some ingredients seem to have different names, such as caster sugar (powdered/confectioners?) and light soft cheese in a carton (cottage cheese?), many recipes sound interesting. The magazine did cost $5, which I thought was high, then I saw the subscription rate for overseas orders (roughly translated to over $100/year!). Guess I'll buy an occasional issue as needed.

Anyway, let me know if you've discovered this mag too and how you like it.

I'm amazed you've found this in the US - we lived in the UK for two years & I loved this magazine. Occasionally I get a copy from the UK thru friends. Caster sugar is our granulated sugar (needs to be fine grained like our best quality cane sugar). I think light soft cheese in a carton would be our spreadable cream cheese. The mag is L2.10 in the UK which translates to approx $3.50-$3.75 depending on the exchange rate, so $5.00 isn't all that expensive considering the postage. I have the April 2001 issue - is that the one you bought? I have a Brit/US conversion booklet (and experience!) so pls let me know if you need any additional info. I've noticed we've imported Ainsley Harriott into the Ready Set Cook show (over there it's Ready Steady Cook, one of my fav shows). Ainsley is a bit OTT (over the top) but an excellent chef & very good at explaining stuff.
