I haven't tried it Josh, because, quite honestly, I am a salt addict and can't live without it. Fortunately I have low BP, but anyone is better off with less sodium in their diet. If I ever had to give up salt I don't know what I'd do, but I do know it would be extremely difficult for me.

Going salt-free is a bad, bad idea in my opinion. It's a really good way to screw your adrenal gland function up, big time.
The "salt problem" in this country is not a salt problem, it, like most dietary problems, is a junk food/prepared food/adulterated food problem. Look at the packages of food you eat and you'll see shocking amounts of refined sodium chloride table salt. It tastes like junk and it's not that great for you. Get rid of the processed stuff and you have a pretty hefty salt allowance each day. Use a good quality sea salt that has other trace minerals, and it actually provides important nutrition. Learn how and when to salt food in the cooking process and you're good to go! So, "salt" (which is not all created equal) gets a bad rap when the blame should be laid on the manufactured food producers who have changed the human diet in the last few decades and have to add enormous amounts of low quality salt to attempt to add flavor to foods they've devitalized and ruined.
[stepping off the podium now...]

There are a couple of sites that I frequent when searching for alternatives to ingredients that are normally high in sodium...
Low Sodium Recipe Archive (http://www.lowsodiumcooking.com/free/Archive.htm)
Low Salt, Low Sodium... (http://www.fitnessandfreebies.com/lowsalt/index.html)
There are probably tons of other sites so I don't feel the need to buy a magazine. HTH!
