I am seeing quite a few of the recent recipes in CL call for kosher salt...can regular table salt or other "types" of salt be substituted?

Sea salt and koser is what the chefs on TV having been saying. There was a thread earlier in the week related to this. I can tell you that table salt ISN'T a 1:1 ratio.

I agree with donleyk about the table salt. This might sound strange, but table salt is saltier than kosher or sea salts. I have to admit that there are somethings that kosher salt does not work as well as table salt because of its course texture. I suppose it could be ground down finer if one wanted to do that. I may try it.
