I know this has come up for discussion before, but most of those threads are now in "Popular Threads," and thus not accessible (hope I'm right about that).

I have tried this before, and after trying again this a.m., I remember why I haven't done more of this. First, you have to create an aol screen name (which I swear I've done at least twice before, but just can't remember my password!) Then, when I did get in there, when I typed in my comments on the recipes, square characters, not letters, turned up. I may e-mail a moderator and ask if that's just b/c I'm using a Mac, but I've never had any problems on any other parts of the CL site.

Anyone else encounter these issues?
Also, how many of you rate recipes on that part of the site?

Typically I try and check both the BB threads and the ratings comments when I'm making a recipe, but I don't recognize many of those raters' names (again, could be different usernames, whereas I try to keep similar ones). Folks on that portion of the site give good recommendations too...just seems like a good option that should still be accessible. It also seems like when a recipe has no posts here, there are typically some comments and ratings in that section.

I've rated recipes a couple of times and there have been recipes where I didn't recognize the raters' names and came here asking for a review...last one got nothing from here...

I'm on a MAC and don't have problems using that portion of the site.

I do have a different screen name there because I signed up for that portion of the CL site years ago.

I find it useful if I am seeking a recipe since the BB has way too many choices hidden in way too many threads for me to use as a search engine -- I just get overwhelmed doing a search on the BB unless I KNOW what I'm trying to find.

I try to keep up with recipes and comments on a regular basis for the BB -- I have a recipe application which copies something from a Safari webpage right into the cooking program so that's how I keep with the BB recipes and reviews.
