I made some pasta sauce tonight and used just 1 tablespoon of tomato paste from the can. I have a lot left over and was wondering how you store the leftovers? Just take it out of the can and put it in Tupperware? Can I freeze it? Thanks.

I measure it out in tablespoons (heaping - not particularly exact. I put the blobs on paste on a plastic plate and stash in the freezer until frozen.
When they are hard, I put them in a plastic baggie. No need to defrost if I'm making a sauce or soup -- just throw in the frozen blobs.

I just put the balance of the can into a snack-sized storage bag and freeze. I then cut off pieces, as needed. Like blazedog, I just put the frozen pieces that I cut off directly into whatever it is that I am cooking.
