What is MasterCook?

I've noticed a number of you copying recipes from "MasterCook." What is it exactly? And is it free?

MasterCook is a computer software program for recipes. I't not free but it's not too expensive...I think someone found it for about $20 at Best Buy (?). It's made by ValueSoft now and the current version is 8.0 and very user friendly!
