My 8 inch Professional S series knife broke when I was slicing my icecream cake - about 1 inch from the end it snapped off. Does anyone know if Henckels has a life time warrenty?? Has this ever happened to anyone else? These knives are very expensive so I'm upset that it broke.

WOW - that must have been one frozen cake. Anyway, most knives do have some type of warranty, and a company such as Henkel should as well. But with warranties, there is always a fine print. This is there website. I am sure you can contact them and ask.

The exact same thing happened to my henckel knife when cutting into a frozen dessert! I had had it for about 8 years or so, but took it back to the department store where I had bought it, and they gave me a new one with no receipt, no problem!

Good luck!

Dana -

Let us know what happens with your knife. My husband used my 6-inch boning knife to pry up his telescope mirror. The tip broke off about 1/2" - 1" from the end. Needless to say, I was furious!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/mad.gif

The only good part is that when he was apologizing (profusely and prolonged http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif), he promised to buy me 2 knives! Woe unto him who doesn't realize what they cost! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
