I've always used the full fat Kraft Mayonnaise but I recently decided to try looking for a decent low fat and nonfat Mayonnaise. I'm looking forward to try the May Chicken Sald with Asaparagus nd Toasted Almonds that calls for low fat mayo.
Any reccomendations? years ago I tried a nonfat Mayonnaise (can't remember the brand) and it was horrible - I'm hoping there have been some improvements.

I've always used Hellman's Light Mayo. I really like it and don't notice much of a difference from the full fat version. Give it a shot! Good luck!

I second the Hellman's light! Even hubby will eat it. We've talked about this a couple of times on the BB in the past and I think there were quite a few people who liked the Hellman's light mayo.

I use Hellman's low fat...and there is the light...don't know why I decided on low fat?
Anyway, on another thread it was mentioned that in the midwest/west coast Hellman's is called something different. Can't remember what.

I also like the Hellman's Light Mayonnaise. This weekend I decided to try the Low Fat and it was awful. I'll just use less and have something with taste. I don't think it tastes much different than the regular mayo.

I'm not a very big fan of mayonnaise and if I have to use it, I try to make sure that it is not a big part of the recipe. I hate the non fat stuff so I use Trader Joe's soyannaise, which is not as low fat but not as much as the full fat stuff.

Does anyone know what Hellman's is called on the west coast?

For West-coasters, I think the name is Best Foods. The logo is the same (blue ribbon around the words)

Hellmans' is Best Foods on the west coast. I've been using their Fat Free Mayo for years! I honestly am so used to it that DH and I both enjoy it. I'm sure if its not something that you use often, the lowfat is fine, but we figured we'd give the fat free a shot, and if we DIDN'T like it, we'd go up a notch to the lowfat. Never had a problem! Good stuff... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I love Kraft Fat Free. I haven't tasted Hellman's/Best Foods, but even the Kraft label says that the Kraft FAT FREE beat Hellmann's/Best Foods LOW FAT in taste tests. Again, I can't vouch for that personally, but I do love my Kraft Fat Free. Use it in EVERYTHING, and no one knows. My sister was just here visiting from out of town, and I made some coleslaw using it. I never even bothered to tell her I used Fat Free. She loved it, and when she came back a day later, she wanted more (too bad - I ate it all already!) Anyhow, why not buy it in the really small jars and taste it - that way if you hate it, you won't be wasting too much, (but I can almost guarantee you won't hate it!) Fat Free Mayos have DEFINITELY improved in the last few years.

I use Hellman's light. TRied Miracle Whip and Safeway brand light but I vote for Hellman's.

I bought the Kraft Fat Free to give it a try and its nasty. Way to sweet. I'm going to try the light version next. Like the psychologist (in my weight loss class) told me, if you don't like the taste its not worth it. Eat a little less of something that you do like.
