I just finished reading this book and wondered if anyone else has read it. What an eye-opener!!!!! This book explains why the trans fats are so bad for us, explains that the FDA and others have lied to the public about fats and have been lying since the '70s!!!
It basically tells you to eat a natural diet and include full-fat dairy, butter and meats. I'm pretty much following that with The Fat Fallacy but this book really gives the science behind the reason Dr. Clower advises eating this way.
I highly recommend reading this!!!

Thanks for posting. I keep thinking I will finally decide to give up crap I know isn't good for me (as I munch away on my fritos) but I can't quite get over the hump. Maybe this will help.

I did read about science knowing back in the 70's what food cos. were doing with the fats wasn't good. Maybe in Nature? I can't recall.

Thanks for the info - I'll have to see if I can find the book.

Am I wrong in thinking that Frito's are real food? I know they are fried and have too much salt but they don't have any transfats or preservatives.....

I don't know that they're fake, but I'd still put them in the junk food category.

Oh, I agree that they are junk and that there are better choices but I was at least happy to discover that they were "real".

I was going with the fact that they did have trans fats because there's nothing on the package saying there weren't. I figure Frito-Lay wouldn't waste anytime slapping that healthy label on it if they could. :D And my comment was more directed at how I can eat better not so much that Fritos aren't "part of a healthy diet". That's my first defense when I crave them.
