I never had used rhutabega before but this time when I went grocery shopping, a woman was picking one up. I asked how she cooked and she said she roasted it with other veggies. I cut up onions, carrots and the rhutabega , spinkled them with olive oil and a little salt and roasted them at 400 for about 30 minutes.

I found a new vegetable because the Rhutabega is delicious. I just wih it were easier to peel and slice.

It is delicious isn't it? We mix rhutabaga along with our potatoes when mashing them. Yummy!

My mother always cubed it and cooked it with carrots and then rough mashed them with butter, salt and pepper. That's how I fix them, too and they are so good.

If you liked that, try the CL Golden Rutabegas with Shallots (I think that's what it's called) from a few months ago. To die for! Let me know if you can't find the recipe and I'll post it.
