While my whole family thought these were gross--I did make one horrible error--I accidentally bought garden vegetable cottage cheese instead of regular. The veggie part of it tasted ok--I think my main gripe was that I don't think that cottage cheese and feta cheese were meant for each other.
Anyone make this with better results?

There is a thread on this recipe already. One person liked them. I thought it was yucky as well, and I used regular cottage cheese.

I LOVED these, and so did everyone in the supper club I made them for (except for one person). Weird. There's no accounting for our tastes, I guess. Sorry you were disappointed with them. I don't really have any ideas to "fix" the recipe, since I liked them just the way they are. Maybe someone else who made them can give some ideas.

We loved them too, although we're not big cottage cheese fans. I thought they were easy to make, very filling, and tasted good. They were great as leftovers too!
I threw some chopped fresh basil into the filling mixture as well as into the sauce to up the fresh flavor.
I especially liked the stovetop preparation method... don't have to turn the oven on!

BTW -- I froze my leftovers but they did not reheat well. The soft cheese separated.
we just thought they were ok - we didn't even have a problem with the cottage cheese...we just thought there was way too much spinach. i think we'll just stick with regular stuffed shells from now on...
