Why would the lowfat version call for 1/2 cup of Kahlua and the other recipes call for anywhere from 2 tblsp to 1/4 cup. Could this have been a mistake? I used the lowfat version and the dessert was too STRONG...the alcohol was so overwhelming and I served this to my Bible study group! Never having used Kahlua, I didn't realize what a punch I was packing...like I spiked the dessert or something...any feedback from anyone?

Possibly to mask the fact that there are less of the fatty ingredients? Sorry I dont have more of a definitive answer.
I do, however have a cute Tiramisu story. DH was at a trade show with his boss and they hadTiramisu for dessert. One of the people said she hadnt ever had it...what did it taste like. Boss said is "is better that sex". DH told boss "Ive never had sex with your wife, but I can tell you its not better than sex" Boss told him he was fired http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I think it is sooo funny!
Sorry to digress.....

THe recipe only calls for 1/4 cup kahlua - not 1/2 cup. No wonder yours came out so strong! The bible study group must have had some really interesting discussions that night!!

Which tiramisu recipe did you make? I made Tiramisu Anacapri, which did call for 1/2 cup of Kahlua. I'd agree that amount was way too much -- I only used half of the Kahlua mixture, and my Bunco group all said you sure could taste the Kahlua mixture. If I made the recipe again I'd cut that whole mixture in half. I'd love to know the response from your Bible group -- got a good chuckle out of that story. Maybe you should have studied the Wedding at Cana that night!

I thought she was talking about the White Russian Tiramisu. It is posted as a feature recipe on cookinglight.com today.

Schuh, THANK YOU FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF THE 1/2 CUP MEASURMENT! you know, no one said a word.....and maybe they didn't even realize....but never again! I am new to cooking with wine and liquors....should have realized there would be no burn-off. One member of our group does drink and she took the first bite before the others got there ....SCHWANG! She died laughing...but I had to serve it, it was all I had...I have a feeling the others weren't drinkers and didn't know what hit them....I made the anacapri...like you...I didn't use all of the liquid...but like I said it still packed a punch! HA!HA on the Wedding night at Cana! Jesus first miracle...at the insistance of his mom! but thanks for the help! I may try it again....using a different version...maybe the Russian one! And thanks for your response...and to ALL who responded! This is the neatest forum!
