Review: Chicken Salad With Asparagus and Toasted Almonds-May 01

Am new to the BB and thought I would post my first review. We had Chicken Salad ...Almonds and my family really enjoyed it. The only addition was celery for more crunch. Just wondering what would be a good substitute for the asparagus when it is out of season this summer?

I have substituted green beans for asparagus before. Also, if you have a Trader Joe's near you they often carry frozen asparagus (don't know if the recipe calls for the asparagus raw or cooked). I don't have my May issue yet but can't wait to try this when I get it--it sounds delicious.

We had the salad yesterday and thought it was rather bland. I loved the asparagus and crunchy almonds however and think the dressing could be doctored a little to make it more interesting.
