I made a variation of this tonight. I used a turkey breast instead of pork chops. I didn't have smoked paprika, but I did have some good strong Hungarian paprika and I cooked the turkey breast on my charcoal bbq so it got a smoky flavor that way. :D
For the corn relish I also added some chopped pasilla pepper along with the chopped red bell. I like the flavor of the pasilla. I served the relish cold and it was quite good.
Recipe suggests serving this with roasted potato wedges, but I used a can of kidney beans and black beans with some southwest spices and heated that up as a side. And had some grilled pineapple as I had a pineapple hanging around and it just sounded good. :D

I've seen other recipes that call for smoked paprika. Does anyone know where to buy this. I've never seen it in stores where I shop.

I did a Google of "Smoked Paprika" and there are any number of online sites including Amazon.com. Altho amazon was a bit pricey. It seems it may be available at certain kinds of ethnic markets that cater to spanish or middle european styles of cooking as well. I did see a site, here (http://buffalocreekspices.com/moreinfo.cfm/189) that sells by the pound but is as cheap as some of the 2 oz cans I saw online. Wow.
I wonder if anyone else tried the recipe I originally posted about?

I made this last night since it fit my WW Core plan. (joined yesterday)

I used Penzey's Smoked Paprika and this dish came out very nice! Not too spicy, a subtle hint of that smoky flavor. DH and I both really liked the relish!! You use turn it into a side salad or even a main dish by adding some meat and maybe some beans.

Thanks for calling the recipe to my attention and also for alerting me to the fact that it is Core.

I have recently fallen in love with smoked paprika -- I get mine from penzeys -- absolutely no comparison with even good quality regular paprika.
