I am thinking of finally buying a proper food processor. For years I have had an Oster combo. One base, and it is a standard mixer. Take the mixer head off, and put on a slicer/shredder, blender, or basic (small capacity, one function) food processor. Tonight I stopped by a local store that is going out of business. They had a Cuisinart model DLC 2014N - 20% off their price of $299.99. Checking on line, the best price I found for this model was $289.99. They had only 2 left, so I have to act quickly if I want it. Anyone have this model? Does this sound like a good price for it? Any advice for me??

I bought a Cuisinart DLC-5 (7 cup) food processor from Amazon for $79.99 with free shipping. It is still available for that price (including free shipping). It is smallish compared to the DLC-2014N and lacks bells and whistles but it has been perfect for my needs with a family of four. (I was replacing a 20-year-old Kenmore that finally died!)

I had a Cuisinart and didn't like it at all. It didn't uniformly shred, and it was so loud! I just bought the Kitchenaid processor from QVC...I hope I'm pleased with it. :)
