I know it has been a big discussion on this BB about organizing recipes...I was informed of this site and thought those of you looking into MC but not sure you want to spend the $$ on it might try this out...The site offers free CD's, including MasterCook Deluxe...you pay shipping only...$5.00.....It is NOT the Cooking Light version, but it is the same software minus the CL recipes...It contains 2000 other recipes including some from famous chefs...Anyway here is the site if anyone is interested...it was posted on the OAMC yahoo group to all members.

I wonder what version that is. I don't see that indicated anywhere.

I was wondering about the version, also. I think it is a pretty old one because it says it is compatible with macs. I don't think any of the recent versions have been for macs.

Good catch, Laura. I think you're right about the Mac.

I'm new to this BB, so I don't know how redundant this message is, but... I organize my CL recipes using database software. I use FileMaker Pro for the Mac, but there are several others. I download all the CL Annual Indexes from the CL website; and then, more or less with one click of the mouse, upload the recipe titles/year/page/category into my database.I can then easily make notations to each recipe as to whether I've tried it, liked it, if it's a good "entertaining" recipe, what modifications I've made, etc. I even make notations as to whom I've served the recipe. I have been using this system for a long time (1995 - forward) and I've found the system works great!
