In case you are an visitor to the SL boards and didn't already know, they've been taking down for refurbishing. (There's a message on the main page http://community.southernliving.com.) They say it's for a redesign, but I also know there's been some sort of controversy/infighting 'mongst the members, and there were rumours that the boards wouldn't be brought back at all. But, who knows.

Has anyone heard anything similar about these boards? The SL boards were identical except for color scheme and topic categories, so I'm wondering if they're going to overhaul these as well ... ?

I was going thru some threads over there and it was quite apparent that there was much fighting going on. Now it seems that they are really worried because they think Robin the Admin. may just choose not to put many boards back up and running. It's sad. You make friends and sometimes not, but in the end, it is nice to go to a community where you have things in common with many people that you normally wouldn't get to know.

Well, there are some I could mention on the Other topic board that seem to delight in causing trouble, but other than that ...

P.S. This group is MUCH more sophisiticated cooking-wise, too. Most of the recipe-sharing there fell into the mushroom-soup category. :rolleyes:

The SL boards were up and running at least on Wednesday with a new format. Yes, there is a lot of squabbling over there. Don't know what could have happened.

I only go over there occasionally, but I have never really noticed any bad behaviour. so I was surprised to read that recent "lemons" thread where someone (ahem) was lambasted for just suggesting that people should attach sources to their recipes. that was bizarre.

I hope this BB doesn't go downhill.
