I couldn't resist purchasing it as I smelled so wonderful -- any idea of how to use it. I would assume in some kind of lemon dish but nothing springs (or herbs) mind.

I would assume it would be terrific with a roast chicken....:)

Did you buy a plant for your garden? Or some loose at the store? I grow it & use it in any dish that calls for fresh thyme. Adds a subtle hint of lemon to the sauce or dish.

:D :D :D :D :D My garden consists of a balcony overlooking Hollywood Boulevard which I venture out on only to shake out my feather duster :) :)
However, the Hollywood Farmers Market on Sunday makes up for my botanical deprivation. There is an old Mexican man who sells herbs for fifty cents a bunch - I am also tempted by his lemon verbena which I recall was used by Scarlett O'Hara's mother to make perfume or sachets :)

I was just looking up some recipes for lemon thyme the other day myself. Here are a few that I copied to Mastercook:
GRILLED PIZZA WITH YELLOW SQUASH, MOZZARELLA, AND LEMON THYME (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/12649?epiSearchPage=http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/find/results?search=lemon+thyme)
HONEYDEW IN LEMON THYME SYRUP (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/108383?epiSearchPage=http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/find/results?search=lemon+thyme)
If you do a seach for "Lemon Thyme" on www.epicurious.com, you'll find some others - that's where I found these.
I LOVE lemon verbena too!!! I'm (im)patiently waiting to plant it this year - our gardening centers have not gotten any in for some reason. Eating Well has a really delicious Lemon Verbena Cheesecake recipe.

Thanks for the info and hints.
I like using lemon thyme in seafood dishes - grilled salmon, Greek prawns, etc.

Yes - Sunday morning CL or my computer went crazy and everything got double posted and/or CL kept asking me to log in when I tried to delete the extra posts -- that's what I get for repairing the permissions on my computer :D
I haven't had an opportunity to figure out what I can realistically do with it this week -- I did just chop some into a mixed salad yesterday and that was nice -- a Rachel Ray tip for using up fresh herbs.
