I can't believe I am starting an AI thread. Me, who didn't watch until this season, and only did b/c I was intrigued about the hullabaloo.

I got in 2 votes for Bo :)

Vonzell just didn't come through tonight.

My picks: Bo & Carrie

Hmmm...I was thinking Bo and Vonzell. ;) Bo rocked tonight, no doubt about it. I think maybe I didn't like Carrie's performance as much as V's because I can't stand cheesy Air Supply.

So is the finale tomorrow night? I thought Ryan said that, but my local tv guide doesn't show it.

I like all three of them. :D BUT....I'm only dialing Bo's numbers tonight. He was incredible. I've never heard that second song he did, but I loved it. Something by Badlands? His voice is just awesome.

Carrie's voice is awfully good, but she just doesn't seem to have that natural presence on the stage. In one of her songs, I almost felt I could hear her counting how many steps to take forward. It LOOKED very choreographed for her.

I really like Vonzell. She seemed to have such a good time tonight.

I think I'd like to see Bo and Vonzell in the finale, but I thoroughly expect it to be Bo and Carrie. Since I like all three of them, the only thing that could go wrong is if Bo goes. Surely NOT! Yes, I voted. :D If you vote tonight, you actually get to hear their voices thanking you instead of the typical recording. "Hey, this is Bo..." :D

From the songs that Bo has been performing, I really think this could be the first AI CD I'd consider buying. His voice is just enjoyable. I loved it when Clive Davis said that he could already imagine the two of them working together.

Forgot to add (and it's faster to add a new note instead of editing and waiting the 30 seconds)...

The finale is NEXT week. Tomorrow night is when one of the three will leave. Next week is the big showdown!

Mmmmm - I'd be happy to give Bo some satisfaction. That man was hot tonight! I agree with whichever judge said they felt like they were at a Bo concert tonight. It was totally his show.

I agree. I would definitely buy one of his CDs. I just love his voice and the personal twist he puts on every song that he sings.

Darn, I missed two of Bo's songs. I would have LOVED to see his version of Satisfaction. I saw his first song. He rocks. He's the best. Always thought so, always will.

It's Bo, far and away. I think Carrie will be in the final with him. Vonzell is okay, but every song she sings, I think she's sung the week before.

I think Carrie (as compared to Vonzell) had the better vocals tonight, but her stage presence is so-so. But I agree, Bo is HOT!

BTW I got two votes in for Vonzell, but couldn't get through for Bo.

ETA based on my own personal research, Vonzell is going home tomorrow. It is way too easy to get through to her number right now. :(

Actually, I have no doubt that all three will do well beyond AI, so I am not too bummed. I just like Vonzell better than Carrie overall.

OMG.............BO ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!!
When they announced he had chosen not to have the band play along with him for the second song I thought, uh-oh, kind of gutsy but because I had never heard that song I got worried. SHAME SHAME SHAME on me - it was BO! He TOTALLY pulled it off. I voted for him too! Yup, a BO CD will be in my collection!

Bo certainly was by far the best tonight. I enjoyed all of his songs. It was a very gutsy move to sing without the band, but I loved Simon's comment that he might have sent them all looking for new jobs :D I must admit that I did manage to get a couple of votes in for him (Ok, maybe more than a few ;) ) Also if you go to the Idol site they have video clips of each weeks performances (since 05/03 plus Constantine singing Queen) - they should have tonights up by tomorrow for anyone who may have missed them, or for those who just want to see Bo sing again.

I agree - that second song was amazing. And, it was a real risk for him - I fully expected that for the personal choice song, he would sing "Sweet Home Alabama" or an Allman Brothers song (which would have been great), but instead he went acoustic.

I agree, and he isn't even my type

Well, I definitely have a Bo crush, and my type is usually clean cut and preppy. :)

It's hard to choose between Carrie and Vonzell - they both have strengths and weaknesses. But they clearly are not on the same level as Bo.

I agree, Bo was fantastic.

However, I was a little irritated that the judges were fawning allover Bo, when Carrie still had to sing (especially after that second song). I don't know how she managed to come out and sing after listening to them gush like that. Remember, Bo is already a performer, so is "seasoned" at it. I just felt like they were a bit out of line and a little unfair. After all, it is the public that decides who will win.... just my two cents!

Now, with that being said, BO will most definitely go through, and I hope Carrie does, too. I think she has the better voice, and she can learn to loosen up on stage. Being comfortable up in front of people doesn't always come naturally, but can be learned and the jitters can be overcome (I know, I teach college).

I know that whoever is the third place winner will do just fine. They are all good.

Just read through everyone else's responses and I'm clearly in the minority, but I wasn't thrilled with any of them to be honest. They're all okay, but I'm not sure any of them have both a wonderful voice and a lot of stage presence and charisma. Just not jazzed at all by them.

But I appear to be alone in this, so I'll back away quietly ... :)

My vote is for Vonzell. Bo doesn't need to win to be successful, and Carrie's music just doesn't interest me. I think Vonzell has the most potential to continue to grow and improve and be successful in the pop/R&B world, while Bo has probabaly peaked with his ability, and Carrie would need to do something get rid of that "scared" look. Just MHO.

Kelly's songs were so strident - Airsupply always sounds like that though. It's Bo and Vonzel for me. If a CD of that second song of Bo's was available I would buy it in a flash. He was awesome !

That was a truly fun AI to watch. Bo was incredible! Another future CD purchaser here. Vonzell looked like she was having a blast, and Carrie sounded great. I think the final this time around will be fun to watch.

Personally Bo is my favorite, but I also like Vonzell. Carrie just isn't natural on stage, and seems to be limited in what she can sing well.

For the record, DH hates Carrie after she mangled Roy's song. Then again, DH loves Roy.

I missed AI last night (darn!) because someone gave me orchestra seats to see "Movin' Out". It was great BTW.

Anyway, I went to that link and was able to hear the first song, but not the second. Is there any way to hear the second song? Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing.

Ditto, ditto, and ditto!

Bo ROCKS. Love him, love him, LOVE him. :D He made a bold move on his second song, and it totally paid off - it was awesome. I loved that other than his crystal clear voice, you could have heard a pin drop in the auditorium. His last song ("Satisfaction") was my least favorite of the three, but I love that he can sing ANYTHING - Elton John to the Stones?? He's awesome. I would definitely buy his album. Plus, he seems like such a good guy. I love that he always acknowledges the band and the musicians after every one of his performances. I love that he has a soft spot for stray animals. I love that his Grandma makes his funky clothes. Too bad he has a long-term girlfriend. Oh wait, that's right...I'm married. ;)

Okay, on to Carrie. Her first song was awesome. The perfect song for her, and she sang it great. No doubt she's a great vocalist, but she is so not a performer. It's painful for me to watch her on stage, because she just looks so uncomfortable. Her second song was TERRIBLE. A terrible choice. I have to admit (and yes, this is a secret shame) that I love Air Supply. :o She butchered that song. Her last song was just OK, not nearly as good as the first one.

On the other hand, Vonzell is a performer. She just looked like she was having so much fun on stage during her second and third songs. The second song, in particular, was REALLY good. Her third song was pretty good too, but her first one was off. I really like her and would love to see her and Bo in the finals, but I suspect, like Melman said, that it will be Bo and Carrie.

There is absolutely no way Bo should not sweep this competition.

I think they need to make a CD with all of the songs that BO sang throughout the competition. I've loved everything he has done since the beginning! I love when the judges are fawning over him and he has that cute little modest smile. :p I just love him.

<snort> Yep, we were definitely separated at birth. I love them too. :o

Bo really blew me away last night. He was absolutely incredible. I've always really liked him, but his performances last night were amazing.

I wanted Vonzell to do better than she did because I like her. But I wasn't blown away by her like I was with Bo.

It seems as though Bo has a solid fan base among 30-something women! :) I hope that American Idol keeps the higher age minimum for next season (which allowed Bo and Constanine to compete).

And yes, I've hit the rewind on the DVR for Bo songs before. :)

I've like Bo since the beginning. He is so talented, and nice. He has perfect pitch and can sing anything. Can't wait for his CD to come out. I'm buying for sure. The only other AI I bought was Kelly Clarkson, her first CD was very good.

Carrie just doesn't look comfortable on stage, nor does she have the knack of choosing the perfect songs. I think she'll go far in the music world. She just needs a little polishing. I love Vonzell too. Especially when she's having fun up there. That cute little laugh she does at the end of her songs!

But..............Bo Rocks!

Wow...I can't believe this thread was on the second page! It's been an hour since the announced who left the show tonight.

The person leaving the show tonight was Vonzell. I thought the hug she gave Ryan as soon as he said her name was so sweet. Ok, I'll admit it, my eyes got a little weepy. She'll do fine though. I'll take a wild guess she'll have her first CD out by Christmas.

I actually enjoyed the recap of the visits back home. I thought Bo was going to totally lose it when he saw the two guys from Lynyrd Skynyrd. He definitely fit into their jam session. :D

Next week should be awesome with the showdown between Bo and Carrie. Go BO!!! :D

I was at the Cooking Light event in Dallas tonight, so didn't see the "going home" show....I was a little worried that Bo fans wouldn't vote because they assumed other Bo fans were voting. I'm okay with Vonzell leaving...really it could have been either of the girls as far as I was concerned.

............... I think he has a solid fan base among n-something women !!! When I heard him do that song again before they announced the results, I was transfixed (I'm trying not to be melodramatic), but that is the truth. It's been so long since we've had a performer who can really "sing" and whose music one can enjoy. Count me in on Bo's first Album.

I was sorry to see Vonzell go. In a way, I think she would have been better "competition" for Bo next week as she certainly is more natural on stage than Carrie.

Unless Bo totally tanks next week, I don't see how he can't be the next "American Idol." Carrie has a good voice but is sort of stiff on stage.

I would have liked Vonzell to stick around for one more week, but I'm sure she'll do fine anyway.

The song Bo sang without the band, In A Dream -- who is that from?

Good show last night. I liked the going home visits too - funny to see Bo tear up when he got the key of the city. And Vonzell joking at the PO that she never thought she'd arrive for work in a limo. Sweet.

Vonzel is a performer - Carrie is not. They both have good voices but very different. Vonzel did'nt make it this week not becaue of her performance or her voice - it's because she had a smaller vote base than Carrie. Pity !

The un-scientific CNN poll has Bo winning 2:1. I almost have mixed emotions, I really think he should win, but I am worried that they will attempt to dictate some type of cheesy pop album as his first CD.
