I don't have any money for presents and don't have a clue what to get him if I did. Any good ideas on special dinner foods I could have. I would like to put the kids to bed early and have a late supper. We live on a lake and I was thinking of eating outside. Any ideas for something special to have or a way to make it romantic? YOur help would be appreciated.

Do you have a special meal you remember having together? I always connect key lime pie with our honeymoon because we had it then.

Crabcakes is our special dish. We were supposed to get some after our reception, but we didn't. So I always have fun getting crab cakes to eat. Costco has some good frozen ones from Maryland.
I've also made a duplicate of our wedding cake before. Just a small cake for the two of us.

We're not big on giving gifts and it's not a money issue for us, so I can tell you that gifts are not important. Since you want to make it special, prepare a meal that you both would like, a bottle of wine if you drink, and a dessert he enjoys. Whatever the meal, dress up the table, with some candles and nice dishes, music in the background, and even wear something nice. For me, anniversaries are about spending time together and enjoying each other, not about the gifts. Happy Anniversary!

Yep, skip the guilt re: gifts. A heartfelt card, maybe. My DH doesn't like mushy so it's even easier. :p They appreciate a good meal and time alone with you.
