Hot Curry and Sweet Curry?
White Sesame Seeds and Black?
Did I? Of course I'm posting this because I know everyone reading it will think to themselves... Heck Yes. And will also know I'm talking about my Penzey's order. And most will then ponder why I didn't order the new French Thyme? there's always next time for that.

Why yes, Barbara, yes you do. :D
Says she who received her most recent Penzey's order this week, containing both French thyme AND smoked paprika- first time I've tried either. Already had the Aleppo pepper on the shelf... ;)

I agree (well, I've already got both of those and the sesame seeds) but I do need the thyme, more white sesame seeds, fine grind tellicherry pepper, large cut parsley,...I'm going to place an order! Thanks for the reminder!:p

I have been making a list for my next Penzey's order. I already have the aleppo pepper. The Smoked Paprika sounds good, though.

Have to go to Penzey's this weekend - don't shoot me but what's Aleppo Pepper and how do you use it? (Like I need more spices. . . )
Oh, and newtricks, definitely get both sesame seeds. I used to think just the white was fine until I made a dish with both (Triple Sesame Asparagus) - it made a world of difference!

I think Allepo pepper and smoked paprika are both excellent choices!
I just had my Mum run to Penzey's for me (save on S&H - she lives by one) ;) with and order for cinnamon and cumin...she got me a pound of each!  :D Lucky me!
Gotta love the food saver! ;) :D

I love this bb. You're all enablers you know that don't you!:D
Tyra and Jtoepfort - thanks for the ideas about what to do with my new items. Stephanie, I'm definitely using your aleppo pepper on hummus idea from the other thread.
Susan (swquilts)- I also got Fleur de Sel and almost got the ground chipotle and black and red spice! But a girl has to stop somewhere.;)
Ok, Varaile - you freeze the spices in your food saver?
Have not fallen game to smoked paprika yet. What are you all using it for?
You thought my 6 foot spice rack had them all, didn't you? ;)

newtricks - yup! With the spices I use a lot, because the nearest Penzey's is 150 miles away, I buy in bulk (typically just the 4oz bag). I keep out what I need and then vacuum-seal the rest.
I keep the spice in it's original bag and just seal up the whole thing. And depending on the spice (typically I just do this with the chili powders, cumin, and cinnamon) I then throw it in the freezer. Works great! :)

I was eyeing my spice collection not too long ago and lamenting that I had 3 curry powders, horseradish powder, 2 types of cocoa powder, 3 types of cinnamon, jalapeno powder, several varieties of chilli powder... but no onion or garlic powder.
