Brand new week - right?!!!:) After reading through last weeks posts sounds like everyone needs a new week!!!
I worked all 5 days last week, plus ball games, worked concession 2 times plus ran the talent show for our PTO on Saturday! Decided to do it all in one week!!!;)
Yesterday was lovely. I did BSS4 with Pam - my first workout in 2 weeks. OMG - I was huffing during the tall box stuff!!! Hopefully this will jumpstart me back and I'll be on the wagon again!!!
We also saw Star Wars as a family and had a great time. It was nice to be back together (plus the night before we all watch #2 to prepare us!!)
So today I'm getting the rest of my soil delivered for my raised garden bed and am going shopping for my tomatoes/peppers and I'm going to try a pumpkin this year!!!:D
How's everyone else doing on this Monday!!! Here's to sweaty workouts and less crazy work weeks!!(Engineer and Gil!!)

Argh! I think I'm just going to be MIA for a while, folks--in the midst of all the other work chaos I have going on, my publisher is FINALLY ready to transition my journal to a web-based system. THis is going to be mean lots of training & installation and trouble shooting, plus of course I need to be as caught up as possible with hte day to day processing, and I have to convert all my reviewer files to a different format. I figure the next two months---well, until probably mid August--are just going to be hell.
No formal workout over the weekend. Mowed half hte lawn Saturday and spent yesterday getting deck & screen porch ready--scrubbing floors, washing furniture, rearranging it all, moving what's left of the winter's firewood down under the deck, etc. My weight's up and no wonder, but I just don't think I'm going to be able to regain a "normal" workout schedule for a while. I'll just hope for hte best.

well hi all...another quick post as we are off to the aquatic center here in about 10 mins but here is my rundown:
saturday: mowed grass and did lots of trimming bushes, etc. yard work so my arms got a workout too!
sunday: off day
today: once again charisse and i are in tune with each other :) i did BSS4 with Pam as well (i hadn't even read your post yet either!) i totally agree about the tall box segment--i am huffing and puffing and she is talking like normal--what is with that? and i can barely keep up when they are doing the tall box without weights--sheesh those girls can move fast! :)
well, i am off...i'm sorry gil you are so loaded down--no worries, come back to us when you have more time! :) we will still be here!

I have been an absolute slug for the last couple of weeks, unless you count lugging around a 13 pound kid as exercise!! :) I go back to work starting tomorrow, so I'm a little down. Probably starting next week, I'll be doing weights at lunchtime again... not sure when I'm going to squeeze in the cardio though. I will be away from home for nearly 12 hours a day once I'm back to work, and it will be hard to spend the extra home/baby time working out. We'll see how things go and play it by ear, I guess.
I haven't been able to do any of my videos, because our basement is torn up like crazy. DH tore off all the old nasty drywall and put up the new stuff and put on 2 layers of mud. After that is all finished, we're going to put new carpet down there. I can't wait until it's all put back together and nice looking again. At least the leak is all fixed, though!
Hope you all have a great week!!

Hello guys! Crazy long weekend - mom in town for baby shower, lots of walking. REALLY don't feel like exercising but going to make an attempt. Yoga class started up again last night, thank goodness.

I'm barging in on this thread for a minute...
I'm looking for some suggestions on home work out DVD/video titles that are OK to do while pregnant. I know some of you are currently or were recently pregnant, and so I just wondered if you had any ideas for titles.
I started a thread about it, but thought that I might ask here too.
Thanks!

Hi Lara! I'll let Sweetpea, Emily and Terri answer for ya!!
I took off yesterday to do some gardening - and did BSS3 Cardio Sculpt Blaster with Lisa this morning. It's amazing what a short time away from these workouts will do - I was asweatin' away. Sweetpea - were we on the same page today???:D
Gil - argh - I'm sorry work is yucky - what's the business with your journal getting published???? Check in when you can!!!
Terri - baby shower - whoopee!!:p How was yoga last night?!!!
Emily - hang in there kiddo. This is the hard part - that and bringing Gavin in to daycare. Hate to say it but it's hard as h***. I made my DH do it for awhile. He even cried. What do you have worked out? And finding time to workout. I had such a difficult time last week and my kids are older. It's a matter of finding the balance I suppose. Also have DH help support you in this. Maybe weekends are the times to do intense cardio.....
Sweetpea - will you move outside to swim once it gets warmer? WILL it ever warm up?!!!!!
A bit of a slow week - hope everyone is doing well! Engineer, are you back to a regular work week? Happy Tuesday all!!:)

alas, no workout yet today BUT Dh is coming home EARLY this week from his training so he will be home today to watch emma so i can go run this evening. yippeee! some outside time! it's nice, cool today but still sunny so that is nice. i am looking forward to some me time on the trail...(sorry charisse, maybe tomorrow we will back on the same wavelength, actually what you did today is what i think i will do tomorrow! :))
lara--i did Fit Mama when i was prego a couple of times but it was just too easy for me. so i did FIRM videos/walking like i did before i was prego. i did drop the weights down pretty low on my FIRM workouts and i had been doing them before so i was cleared to continue them. did all this right up to the day i had her! :) i'd say if you were physically active you should be able to do ANY workout video when you are prego--just LISTEN to your body!! :) happy workouts with the belly!

Yesterday was a good day. I decided I felt so good I wanted to work out and did Core Cardio with Tracy. OK – maybe was a bit much after a week of nothing. I did make it pretty beginner with not near the jumping that you ‘should’ do. But boy was I sweating! Of course I over did just a bit as I can’t go up and down stairs because of the pain in my left knee. Didn’t feel like anything ‘snap’ during the workout but afterward it was very sore. I think it’s doing better now, so I will test it when I get home and if I can go up and down the stairs normally then I’m going to try one of the Bosu workouts that I haven’t done yet (heck it’s DH’s violin lesson so I can do as I please).
Eating has been super for the last two days. (I won’t mention the new Dark Chocolate M&M’s if you don’t – very yum!) Oh course after the chaos that was Miracle Week I gained 3 lbs but heck I felt so good Monday that it didn’t even bother me. Do you suppose that it was the extra weight that did my knee in?
Charisse – Thanks for starting the thread this week. Sounds like you had a crazy week last week too, let’s hope this week is better for all of us. How is the garden looking? And very good on getting back to working out – isn’t it great to sweat!
Gil – I am hoping that you can pop in occasionally just to let us know how you are doing. And you did a lot of work this weekend even if it wasn’t ‘formal’. Haven’t seen my little owl lately but we did have a rather large hawk of some type land on one of the birdfeeders very close to the house. Take care of yourself – OK?
Sweetpea – Let’s hear it for getting out and getting some fresh air (yeah Mr. Pea for getting out a little early and letting you have some me time!).
Emily – I certainly don’t think you qualify as a slug, 13 lbs is a bit of a load to carry around even if it is a cutie. I think you’re plan of doing weights at work is great, that way you can focus on family at home. The cardio will come in time. Cut yourself some slack while you get the kinks worked out of this new system. Sounds like the basement is coming together so big gold star for Mr. K on getting all of that stuff started.
Terri – Sounds like you had a super weekend and that everything went well. Glad that your yoga started back up as I know you really enjoy it.
Lara – sorry I can’t help but Sweetpea, Terri and Emily are great resources.

My knee seemed to be OK so I went ahead with my workout. I did Bosu Cardio Fusion. Well I shouldn’t say I did it, I marched in place or did basics until I could figure out what the heck he was doing. First time through a tape can be a learning experience. But I am so glad that Cindy said to get a Bosu. I have so much fun with it. I’m really lousy at it as my balance has always been poor but for some reason I don’t care (translation I’m not as critical of myself when I use it). My knee was a little achy afterwards but not too bad. A couple of hours later my mind stopped being distracted and I discovered that my right shin was really sore. I figure that must be all the work it takes to stand on the unstable surface. Ouch!
Eating was good yesterday in spite of DH’s violin lesson. So all in all I’ve had 3 solid days and although I’m a little achy – it’s a good achy. I’m going to try and make that four days. If I’m feeling good tonight I will do Cathe’s Basic Step and then either the Upper Body or Lower Body (depending on which one I did last time) and follow that with the ab workout on the same DVD. Hopefully it will go better this time than it did last time.
Oh well all – it appears I’m the first to check in today. Hope everyone has a good hump day – take care.

summer must have officially begun around here as it is quiet! i am off to mow the grass but first wanted to post that i did BSS4 with Allie yesterday and BSS3 with Lisa this a.m.--no weights on the Lisa workout so it was mainly cardio. I love the Allie workout, but man she can move. No breaks in that workout FOR SURE!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLLI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hugs to all my favorite workout people...engineer i was glad to see your minor wt gain (fluid i am sure) didn't bother you as you were feeling good! :) how is your sodium intake by the way? been reading some fascinating things lately about wt gain/sodium intake.

Just popping my head in to say that I really suck in the workout department lately. Thank goodness for yoga. I have a hard time motivating for the elliptical. Looking forward to the community pool opening! I have been particularly tired and achy lately. What ya gonna do, I guess!
Just so you know I'm lurking and listening but just slacking.

Yesterday was another good day. That makes it 4 in a row, amazing. I felt good when I got home so I went ahead with the workout. I did Cathe’s Basic Step. It is a beginner step program and I was really feeling good for the first 10 minutes. Then my right knee starting aching on the outside, but I wouldn’t stop. I just stopped going up on the step on that side and that helped. I followed that up with her Upper Body Sculpt and then her Stability Ball Abs routine that are all on the same DVD. My knee was very sore afterwards and I had a heck of a time going up and down stairs last night. And to top that off I didn’t eat anything on the forbidden list so that makes 4 days in a row of clean eating also. That knee is still giving me fits but tonight was a bow flex night anyway. So I might do just upper body and skip the treadmill. But I am thinking that an abs routine and a good stretch might be just the ticket. I hate giving up the cardio but I really am trying to learn to listen to my body instead of ignoring the warning signs. Just always paranoid that I’m being a big sissy. (DM issues)
Thanks Sweetpea I was beginning to think I was all alone here. It was getting kind of lonely. Two great workouts there and now for lawn mowing. You are a going concern you are! As for sodium intake, last week it was astronomical. This week I’m back to my norm which is still probably too much but not near what I bet the ‘norm’ is.
Terri – Good for you on doing yoga class. And as for the elliptical what the heck, you do what works for you and be happy. When that pool opens you go and enjoy it you hear. Life is too short to be miserable.
Happy Birthday Molli
To everyone else – we’re one day closer to the long weekend. Anyone have any big plans? (Gil – I hope you don’t have to work this weekend.)

Yesterday was an OK day. I was late getting home because of a meeting with my boss. And my knee was really hurting going up and down steps so I didn’t workout yesterday, took it as a rest day. Instead I read part of my Cooking Light magazine and fell asleep on the couch for about an hour when Scott went downstairs to practice his violin. Today I am going to do the upper body Bow flex exercises and then the abs and stretching - Can’t be a total slacker. But at least the eating was good – no foods from the no-no list consumed.
Well DH and I have no big plans for the weekend. Possible go to GF shopping for the day but that’s about it. I know he wants to work on the wagon so maybe he can do that this weekend. And if it ever stops raining maybe we can get the grass mowed. It’s getting really, really deep.
Cute thing I saw this morning pulling out of the driveway. We have a huge drainage ditch in front of our place and I look down and see this momma duck and about 8 or 10 little guys just paddling up stream in the ditch. Rain wasn’t bothering them and they looked to be having a good time. Ah to be so lucky.
Well I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. See you again next week.

Engineer - be careful with your knee. I was feeling your achiness just reading about it.
I worked yesterday and we had a tball game (which I coached too) so no offical workout. Today I power walked with my neighbor for about an hour. Gorgeous day - finally!!!
We're headed to my mom's after Bill gets home. Coming back on Sunday and doing neighbor cookouts Sunday and Monday. Hmmmm eating and drinking??????;)
Terri - glad you're still checking in - It's soon isn't it?!!!!!!:p
Sweetpea - Two workouts and lawn mowing - wow!!! How's Emma and Daddy? Any races soon?
Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!!!!:)
