Just wanted to recommend another alternative for those looking to add more fiber to their diet. I got organic soy flour penne from Trader Joe's and thought it was excellent. It's made with a mixture of semolina flour and soy flour and has 4g of fiber (TJ's whole wheat has 5) so is almost has high in fiber as whole wheat. It has a lighter texture and taste than whole wheat, so it's an excellent option for some recipes that you don't think would go well with whole wheat pasta. Plus it has twice the protein as whole wheat pasta (12g compared to 6) and it's soy protein. I've also seen soy pasta at Whole Foods. I personally love whole wheat pasta with some recipes (like the Penne with Green Beans, Sun-dried Tomatoes and Toasted Bread Crumbs), but if I want to make a light alfredo sauce, I prefer a lighter pasta and this is perfect.
