Congratulatons Julia! Hope your marriage brings you nothing but happiness...
When DH and I married nearly two years ago we were both already 'established' households, (he was 39, I was 37!) we didn't want to register for appliances and such, and sometimes I wish we did! Have fun playing with all your new stuff.
We registered at Home Depot...no kidding! At least you're not sending out Thank You cards for the new WaterSaver Toilet! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Jewel, you are a hoot, I swear.
"Thank you so much for your kind and generous gift. I think of you every time I eat asparagus......." http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Jewel - how exactly did you phrase that thank you card? I can just picture it:
"Thinking of you, every time we use it" or "What a thoughtful and appropriate gift. How did you ever know?"

I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I thought I'd start a new one that kinda combines them.
As some of you know, I just got married. One of the gifts I registered for, and surprisingly got, was a Kitchenaid 4.5 quart stand mixer. We were pretty happily shocked. I would have never bought this for myself, because of the price, but I'm excited to have gotten it. Now I really need to learn how to bake http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif (I love gadgets).
As for other wedding gifts (see how I'm encorporating multiple threads) http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I love the cuisinart food processor we got ( I only had a mini one)and I love the numerous vases and stuff we got.
I also got a couple of all clad pieces (yay!!!!) So, the moral - beats the hell out of me, but I love all the appliances I finally put on the registry, and actually got.
