please don;t change anything again. When you are my age, it is hard to get it once!!!And how do you drain frozen spinach except in a strainer while pushing down witth a saucer?regards, noni

With all the food safe issues going on these days, generally you find people telling you to use your hands, but, use your hands. If you squeeze it like your making snowballs you will be able to get almost all of the water out. Cindy

I agree, use your hands. It's the quickest and easiest way to squeeze out the moisture.

I squeeze with my hands also but I use a paper towel in my hands and it really helps to get even more of the liquid out.
Or if guest are over while making it I put it into a strainer and use a paper towel on top of it and push changing paper towls as needed till it's all dry. ~mary~

MCJIGS just reminded of the procedure that I have seen chefs do on t.v......they lay the spinach (or any green that you want to squeeze the water out) on a clean white cheesecloth; gather all the ends together and squeeze until all fluid is extracted.
