Does your family ever tell you that "we NEVER eat the same thing twice"??? LOL :D

I tell them it would be boring rotating the same 7 recipes every week....and there are sooooooo many recipes to try....

They just don't understand...LOL :D :D :D

DH tells me that sometimes he feels like he's eating in a restaurant.

Not too much lately since I haven't been making anything new.....gotta fix that right now!! :D

DH is constantly telling me that I never make the tried and true favorites, but when I ask him what specfically he wants me to make he says I don't care!!!

Go figure it out!!!

DH sometimes wishes it were the same 7...just like his mommy did
Thankfully, he enjoys all my experiments so it is a small price he's paying :D

I definitely feel like I'm in the right place :D
DH used to complain that we never had the same thing twice and wouldn't it speed up supper time to make something more than once. These days with two kids and a busier life, I depend on more tried and true recipes but I still like to try new recipes at least a couple of times a week.

The last time I made a recipe that was a big hit, DH said, "Better enjoy it now, kids, you'll never see it again!" :p

It's funny, too, because after I try a new recipe, DH and I often spend some time deciding whether it's a 'keeper' or not- when we both know that even if we judge it a keeper, it's not likely to get made again, at least not for a very long time! But I always act like this is a decision with critical implications, and I guess DH doesn't want to spoil my fantasy.;)

That is soooooo funny!:D My DH and DD always tell people we rarely eat the same thing more than once but they like this about our house! DD worries about how she will adjust to dorm food in two years when she goes away to college. She really appreciates my cooking which makes me feel good.:o

Go figure it out!!! Exactly! My DH does the same thing, but I suppose I can hardly blame him... it would be pretty difficult to recall a specific dish when he has something new every day. Oh well, at least our tastebuds don't get bored! I just can't imagine eating the same things all the time.

Now that I have kids and their activities on weeknights, I have about 10 tried and trues I do during the week. But on the weekends I go to my "to try" pile. Dh will eat anything so he's thrilled with my experimenting. The kids...not so much sometimes, LOL.

My brother's wife once declared quite loudly at a family get-together that I was hosting, "Don't you guys eat anything normal?!" as she was eatting some Mediterranean Hummus with pitas for the first time.

I looked at my Mom and shrugged, replying "I thought this was normal..." :D ;)

Very cute comments. I do repeat dinners now, because it is easier and dinners are more well-received by the family.

But, my son's friends think I'm a weirdo because they are used to take-out food and frozen food. This morning I whipped out the waffle iron and offered to make them waffles and they were baffled. The only waffles they know are the kind you put in the toaster.

I gave them chicken breasts coated in panko and almonds last time they were here for dinner and one of them tried it and declared it wasn't Shake 'n Bake, so the others wouldn't even try it.

Grrrrr.
