I am hoping that there might be a BB member who has in their possession, and would be willing to part with, two VHS old movies that I have been searching for. One is "My Dog, the Thief" and the other is "George." They both have St. Bernard dogs as a main character. We had one, Kayak, years ago and since DH and I love these dogs I would love to get the movies to show the family. Only DD remembers him. The two DS's were too young at that time and only know by photos that he was such a "large" and dear member of the family
I know the movies only come in the VHS format. Is anyone able to help?
:) :)
TIA

Joan,
Try doing a search on amazon.com...they have My Dog,the Thief for $.50, I don't know about the other ...or maybe half.com would have it.

Gail, have you ever bought anything from Amazon? This will be a first and I wonder about security because of giving a credit card number. I have bought on line before, say from Barnes & Noble, and not worried about it. But something like Amazon is a bit overwhelming.
Not Gail, but I have bought both from Amazon and used books through Amazon affiliated dealers. Never had a problem or reason to be concerned.

I've also ordered from Amazon as well as their used booksellers, and never had a problem. Amazon is just as reputable as Barnes&Noble, and if you order from a used bookseller, they never get your credit card number (I believe you pay Amazon, who then reimburses the bookseller).

I buy everything online. It's actually safer than handing your card over to a clerk somewhere. The only time I ever had credit card fraud was when I gave my card to a parking attendant at a parking garage when I was leaving - that person made an imprint of my card (and everyone else's that day too) and used it to charge stuff up. Same thing can happen when you go in a restaurant. The server disappears somewhere with the card and could do anything with it (write the number down, make an imprint, whatever). So you're much safer using a secure server online. You can tell a secure server by looking up at the address line on the page you use to type in your credit card info. If the url says https:// instead of just http:// (there's an "s" for secure in the first one), then you know it's a secure server.
Secondly, Amazon is a huge company - bigger than Barnes and Noble, so if you're not worried about them, you don't need to be worried about Amazon.
Lastly, all cards are protected in the sense that if you notice charges that you didn't make, you can dispute them, and you're not liable to pay for them. So I'm not so sure what so many people (you're not alone) worry about?
I've also ordered tons of stuff from half.com (and I've sold a bunch of stuff there too), so if you find something there, I can vouch for that company too. Good luck finding your videos!

Thanks for all the info. I did find both videos listed on Amazon and am going to place an order. You made a "Saint" lover very happy.

I know you've already decided to buy from Amazon, but I wanted to give you one more thumbs up. I've ordered from them for years and have never been less than completely satisfied. In the last 4 or 5 years, I've probably done nearly half of my holiday shopping by sitting at my computer and letting a nice package arrive in an Amazon box on my doorstep just a few days later.
Enjoy your movies!

I know you've ordered already, but for more reassurance. I think we order something from amazon at least 1-2x a month :o Even more getting ready for Christmas. We love Amazon around here.
Grace- I never knew that about the https:. Thanks!
