Empanadas aren't at the top of my list, but there were a number of other things which really caught my eye.

Without sounding unduly like an ad, to those of you who haven't looked at the magazine yet, check it out. (and don't be put off by the parts in Spanish. There's plenty of good stuff there in English as well.)

Vanessa, you've got me interested in the asopaos...

Yes Gail...asopao would be nice with a side dish of crunchy tostones.... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gifthe lemon flan looks pretty yummy too (Gusto). The good thing with this particular asopao is you don't have to keep an eye on it or stir it (usually done in other recipes)
I told Gail but to anyone going to try this I used short grain and i soaked it 1/2 hr before (at least thats the way done back home) The pigeon pea asopao would be better with pork (pork rules!)
The magazine really is interesting hope many get it and enjoy it...

Where did you get Gusto? I looked in 3 supermarkets as well as Media Play (like Barnes & Noble). I'd love to pick it up if I can find it. Thanks.

I found it at a gourmet market; seems to me Vanessa said she'd gotten it at Borders.
