I fixed several new recipes this weekend that got very good reviews from family and friends.

Jamaican Banana Bread- (4/00)- excellent. We loved the combination of flavors.

Chicken Thighs with Garlic and Lime (05/01) - This was so good. I don't usually like dark meat, but this was good.

Lemon-Basil Bean Bowl (posted by SoCal) This was pretty good, but I was unclear if it should be served hot as a side dish or cooled as a salad. I served it hot, but think it would even be better chilled as a salad.

Potato and Sun-Dried Tomato au Gratin (12/00) - I liked this very much, but they kids didn't like the way it looked. The tomatoes turned the sauce a yuk brownish color and was sort of off-putting. The flavor was good though.

We love the Lemon-Basil Bean Bowl and think it tastes better at room temperature. It would make a great picnic dish because it doesn't need refrigerated.

The Lemon-Basil Bean Bowl recipe was not clear on whether to eat it hot/warm or cold. I personally cooked the lima beans and green beans the night before and added rest of ingredients the next day. Needless to say we ate it cold and really liked it that way. BTW, the recipe came from CL (May,00). I should have put that on the original post of the recipe!
