I made this tonight for a potluck tomorrow. At first, I wasn't sure, but after the third "taste," I found it to be addictive.

Creamy, different. A keeper.

Apologies if someone already reviewed this. I looked but could not find a previous thread.

I've really been wanting to do this one! Thanks for the review.

I made the Tex-Mex Pinto Bean Spread from the same section and I had the same reaction of needing to take a few bites before I realized that I couldn't stop eating it.

Wow - thanks for bringing this to my attention. It looks really different - and should be perfect to go with the whole wheat tortillas I am planning on making this weekend.

I will let you all know how it was recieved at the potluck today. The recipe does make quite a bit of dip, too.

I made three of the spreads so far from that article, the black bean butter, the roasted red pepper and bean spread, and the rosemary garbanzo bean spread. I agree with everything that has already been said. The black bean and the roasted red pepper bean spreads took a few tastes before I could decide if I liked them or not. After a few tastes, I was sold with the black bean spread being my favorite of the two. The chickpea rosemary spread was, however, hands down my favorite of the bunch. And that was decided on the first taste! I still want to try the pesto spread and the pinto bean spread.

I just made the Provencal Olive Spread today and it was really good. I LOVE kalamata olives so that helped! It also had a nice fennel flavor from the fennel seeds. Not a wow, but really good.

I made the black bean spread today and was a little disappointed with it. It was ok, but the flavors didn't meld well for me. It might be good on a sandwich with roasted/grilled veg, but I bet that Olive spread would be better for that.
