It's in the magazine section of the bookstore, but it's more like a slim paperback, especially with the $10 tag. Thought you guys might be interested. It's the one in the top left of the below picture. Some recipes include: Joe's Special, Smothered Sirloin Steak with Adobo Gravy, Mini Meat Loaves, Glazed Pork, Pepper Steak, Shrimp Tacos, Pan Roasted Grouper with Provencal Vegetables, 20 Minute Chili, Thai Beef Salad, Pasta Jambalaya, Gyros, Black Bean Burrito Bake, and Red Bell Pepper Frittata. Menu plans throughout, almost 100 pages.
The Summer Flavors one from Sunset (second row, last one) is also another $10 magazine. The chicken on the cover looks really good.

Both those magazines are $15-16.00 up here which is just crazy for a magazine so I won't be buying them....poor me I have no cookbooks! ;) ;) :p

They're not really magazine weight though, if that makes you feel any better - they're heavier. Do you want me to pick up copies and send them to you? I get 10% off... :)

Hey - it's been TWO WEEKS since I've been to a bookstore - y'all had a break. If you check out my blog, I put a picture of all the ones I got.
Ann - no problem. :)

I bought it this morning while in the chekout line at Whole Foods but haven't perused it yet.
Aaah you are so kind to offer to get them for me Missindi!
With postage and the exchange they would cost more than I can get them here!
The thought though is so lovely....your mag hasn't arrived yet- I can't wait! :o

Is this one of the Cooking Light supplements that they put out every now and then? Does it have a title? I have all the annuals (AND magazines) but love the supplements. The menu ideas really appeal to me. I wish they would do a supplement or cookbook around that theme.

Thanks for the alert! I'm thinking it must "The Best of
Cooking Light 7" since I think that's the next one coming
out...unless I missed one.

Sorry, didn't think to put the title, since I included the picture. :D The title is Simple Summer Suppers.
Kima - no worries, I'll pick up a copy for you this week anyway. ;)

Missindi, thanks for the title. I'm headed to the bookstore tomorrow to pick up the new Janet Evanovich book and will pick that up at the same time.

I love the menus they've put together, but am a little disappointed that the Simple Summer Suppers book doesn't have more summery type meals. From the title I was expecting more menus that featured grilling type meals. I'm sure I'll enjoy using this supplement, but will probably do it more in the fall or winter.

Thanks Missindi, I picked it up too. I saw one of those
red Xs so I couldn't read the title. Looks like a good
publication.

I saw Simple Summer Suppers at Wal-Mart for $8.94, so picked it up. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet--it's going on the stack. I'll probably be making simple summer suppers around Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to add that I made the Pepper Steak, very easy,
quick and I'd rate it an 8 out of 10.
