Didn't I read here recently that Dove was the most "healthy" chocolate to eat? Well that's good enough for me to go and try these new cookies - I want to do my part in eating right :D They are not exactly inexpensive.

"New DOVE® Cookies

signature DOVE logo. DOVE Cookies are made with the highest quality ingredients and are available in Classic Chunk and Contemporary varieties. The suggested retail price is $2.99*. DOVE Cookies are

• Toffee Chocolate Tango
*15 cookies per package"

I can vouch for the Toffee Chocolate Tango cookies -- YUM! They were on sale at Target, and I had a coupon, so not too pricey of a splurge. What I'm really dying to try is the new Dove ice cream with the layer of chocolate ganache on the top!! They keep airing the commercials in my area, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, and the last time I checked the web site, it seemed to not be available in the East. Guess I'll have to keep eating those mini ice cream bites they make to tide me over. ;)

Ack! DH picked one up for me as a little pick me up...it was so not worth it. The ganache was a little wierd to me, and the ice cream was sub-par for a premium ice cream IMO. I will stick with Haagen Dazs for the occasional gotta have. (Now Haagen Dazs new lite ice cream...Mmmm)

MMMMM! Those cookies sound wonderful!

Can anyone please tell me what the calorie/fat counts are on the cookies? Any trans fats? Thanks!

Thanks for the review! I'm surprised the Dove ice cream pints wouldn't be a higher quality. Guess I'll save my money for the good stuff! I've tried the Haagen Dazs light ice cream, but only the dutch chocolate flavor, and it was really good and hard to tell it's low-fat unless maybe you did a side-by-side taste test with the real stuff. Can't wait to try the other flavors!

OK here goes - although I must say that I got a few weird looks at Safeway. However I was in my exercise gear so I think they got the point of what I was doing :D

Mint Chocolate Serenade
serving size 3 cookies
160 cal 80 cal from fat
Total fat 8 grams
Sat Fat 5 grams
Trans Fat 0 grams

Toffee Chocolate Tango
serving size 3 cookies
160 cal 70 cal from fat
Total fat 8 grams
Sat Fat 4.5 grams
Trans Fat 0 grams

Milk Chocolate Moment
serving size 3 cookies
160 cal 80 cal from fat
Total fat 9 grams
Sat Fat 5 grams
Trans Fat 0 grams

Beyond Chocolate Chunk/Chocolate Walnut Oasis/Chocolate Walnut Rendezvous
serving size 1 cookies
110 cal 50 cal from fat
Total fat 6 grams
Sat Fat 3 grams

They are on sale at Safeway for 2 for $6.00 although at 8 or 15 (depending on which one you purchase)this is not cheap. I am not sure what the regular price is as they just had them stacked near the milk.

THANK YOU! That was very interesting, and I appreciate your great "Sleuthing at Safeway"!!! :)

Well, they ain't health food -- but then, we didn't expect them to be, did we?!! ;) But oh, those last ones sound like HEAVEN to me... hmmm... maybe they're "MENTAL HEALTH" food! Yeah!!!! That's it! :D

Thanks again,
Lynn

I've had the mint chocolate seranade, and they are good!

I may be weird, but one cookie does me just fine...:)

DS talked me into these because they were 2/$5 at Safeway. We weren't too impressed with the chocolate chunk-- one cookie didn't even have chunks in it!!

The cookies are crispy and have a layer of chocolate on the bottom. I'd rather have chewy cookies.

The mint chocolate serenade were good, but I don't think I'd buy them again.
