Probably a stupid question, but what is this stuff? I think I understand it comes from Trader Joe's, but what is in it? Thanks for bearing with me...

I thought the same thing when I read about it! It's a healthy snack. Rosie O'D. likes it. They have a website if you want to check it out.

Just wanted to add that I wanted to buy this today, based on the rave reviews from this BB, but my natural foods store was sold out! It was on special, and they had veggie booty and fruit booty, but no pirate's booty! I was bummed!

It is hard to describe, but it is very light and tasty!! I do not have access to Trader Joe's, but happened to come across it in the natural foods section of my grocery store the other day.

I just got my bag out of the pantry... It describes itself as "puffed rice and corn, all natural, and good for you."

It's basically a healthy puffed white cheddar flavored snack. Ingredients: rice, corn meal, canola oil, aged cheddar cheese (no fat milk, salt, cheese cultures, enzymes), whey, and lowfat buttermilk.

The website listed on the bag is www.robscape.com. (http://www.robscape.com.) Let me know if you want any more information about it.

I just went to the website. You can order cases of it online!

Imagine a lighter texture baked Cheeto, but replace the orange cheddar cheese dust with aged white cheddar cheese dust, and imagine it looks like popped popcorn when it's baked. It's basically a little piece of low calorie, low sodium, low fat, low sugar, Heaven on Earth. Perfect for a major snack attack! Veggie Booty is OK, but I have a problem with the color. Something about Green Cheetos that just grosses me out! Haven't tried Fruity Booty yet. I'm a cheese-freak so I'll stick with the Pirate's. I end up buying 10 bags at a time and no one at TJ's blinks. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

its like cheesepuffs only not so greesy. You can buy it also at some health food stores or from their website Robscape.com

I finally got some today and found it at Jamba Juice by Pearlridge Mall on Oahu. Its so good. I paid $1.25 for a little snack size bag. Now I'm off to the website to see if its cheaper to buy it by the case. The health food store I go to doesn't sell it due to it having some animal product in it. They sell Fruity Booty and Veggie Booty, but not Pirate's Booty!

They are just like those puffy cheezies - only with the light cheddar cheese! I might add - they cost a fortune in comparison - and I wonder how much less fat/calories they have and are they worth the difference?

The Whole Foods down the street got them. Then they sold out and I had to wait about a month to try them again! They are delish. They are still "junk food" in that they are pretty much empty calories. However, it's a less unhealthy snack than most, and it doesn't have additives and preservatives.

Anyway, here's the nutritional information per 1 oz. (which, by the way, is a TON of products.

120 calories
2.5 g fat (0 saturated)
0 cholesterol
137 mg sodium (6%)
22g carbs
2g fiber (8%)
0g sugar
3g protein

4% calcium, 2% iron

I tried Veggie Booty, it has way more vitamins, but it doesn't taste nearly as good.

Lena - yes they have a lot less fat and calories and they taste better. Our TJ's has them for only $1.79 a bag - how can that not be a great deal when the entire bag has about 450-500 calories?

As you may be able to tell I am a big PBooty fan (not Veggie Booty - YUCK http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif )

I finally found Pbooty, and love it. Almost hate to admit I buy the Vbooty too. I made the fatal mistake of making my kids try it. They thought it would taste bad coming from a health food store..BIG MISTAKE!!!!
