View Full Version : What to Wear - Beach Wedding

I've been asked to stand for my best friend, who is getting married on the beach in Clearwater. She is wearing a two-piece dress in ecru with one of those skirts that is longer on one side. It's kind of fancy with embroidered flowers down the side of the top and the skirt. She's wearing wedge sandles, that she will probably remove on the beach. The groom is wearing shorts and a colorful shirt, neither of which I have seen.

My question - What Can I Wear? I have a purple Maggy London halter dress, but I'm not sure if that would look ok. Any suggestions?

I googled Maggy London - cute stuff. That sounds fine - I HAD a beach wedding and that's what most people wore - halter dresses and sundresses. Except for the older generation, who sweated in more fancy things.

Enjoy!

I think any sundress or light top and summer skirt combo would work. Can you ask the bride if there's anything specific she wants or doesn't want?

I tried to find a picture of my halter dress, but it's not to be found online. The bride doesn't really seem to care what I wear. This is a very relaxed wedding (3rd for her, 2nd for him). I was hoping to wear something I already have, but I would go shopping if what I have seems inappropriate. The bottom line is that I just want to look nice and still be dressed in something that looks right for a beach wedding.

Thanks for the replies so far.
