Our DSIL is a police officer. His best cop buddy was run over by a suspect today. We're still waiting for word on how serious his injuries are. Preliminary reports are that his pelvis is crushed and his ribs are broken. They're still checking for internal injuries. The good news is that he's awake and alert. He's a daddy to two young children, and this is going to be a very difficult time for his family. My heart goes out to him and all of the officers in the department with him and their families. This kind of thing strikes so close to home that it's traumatic for all of them. Please send prayers and good thoughts his way.

News is still sketchy, but it looks like the car ran over the left side of his body. They're saying broken shoulder, broken ribs, broken pelvis and, I think, broken leg. Luckily, no head injuries, adn no internal injuries that they've found so far. Needless to say, it's emotionally traumatic for him and his wife, but they have LOTS of support. Pretty much the whole police department was at the hospital at some point today. We've lost several officers here in too short a time, and had several more injured. It just hurts the department when it happens. We're grateful this one isn't worse, but wish they weren't having to go through it. There's still a lot of uncertainty about how complete his recovery will be and whether he can return to the force. We're hoping for more good news.

Thanks for the prayers and keep them coming, please.
