I made this recipe on a whim tonight, after receiving my Aug CL yesterday (very early for me!), and it was excellent. I halved the recipe and used all fresh herbs from my garden. I think fresh is key here - the tomatoes and herbs are the predominant flavor, and I think the dish would be pretty bland if you didn't use really fresh produce. My changes: I kept the proportions of the herbs the same, but probably used a little bit more of all of them than the recipe called for, and I didn't wait for the tomatoes to start to char, because I didn't want to burn the garlic. Added bonus: the recipe came together in less than 1/2 hour (and I am not a fast cook :o ). This will be a definite make again.

Clara,
Thanks for the review! This sounds wonderful. I love fresh herbs. Would it be too much trouble for you to post this for those of us who haven't yet received August issue? :(

Thanks,

Jeanette

I made this last night and it was so good, it will be a summer staple for us since I have all of the herbs growing in my garden. I made a few changes. I chopped up some tomatoes I had and sauteed them for 5 minutes and then added the broth. I only used half 8 oz of pasta but kept teh same amount of sauce. I still think it needed more though so next time I will add more broth. and I used feta cheese instead of goat cheese. I think this would be great with some chicken or shrimp tossed in
