How do you store a pie in the fridge? I am making a key lime pie and since I will have three egg whites left over I think I will also make a chocolate meringue pie.
DS2 is coming home with a girl friend and he will bring the tupperware pie keeper I took to him in the spring which will be able to keep key lime in, but how do you store a rather tall pie without it seeming to pick up that fridge taste/smell. I have loosely covered them with foil but wondered if anyone has a better idea.

Do you have a large bowl with a lid? You can set the pie on the lid and then fasten the bowl on top of it. Kind of precarious, but it'll work.
I've used two-gallon zip lock bags - puff the empty bag out, slide pie in, fill bag with air and close zip lock. the air inside keeps the bag pillowed out and not touching the pie.

I have a rubbermaid cake container that works great for tall pies. The "top" is reversible, so you can use the side with the lip to put the pie on and place the bowlish part over the pie. Short one's go in my tupperware pie thing. I do like the looks of the tupperware cake container better (it looks more secure).

Thanks for the ideas! A bowl might work, and I am definitely going to get some two gallon bags today! I called DS to remind him to bring home the tupperware container and he said "what container?" Ahh college, who knows where it is.....
One problem with my fridge, it is a built-in that was here when we moved in and it has a fairly shallow depth to it. So I have to watch the measurements.
Thanks again.
